Run FenLight+ from your phone.

An Android app for the FenLight+ Kodi plugin. Browse movies and TV on your phone and send anything you find over to Kodi, which sorts out the sources and plays it on the TV.

A tap sends Kodi a JSON-RPC Player.Open call on a plugin://plugin.video.fenlight/… URL. FenLight+ finds a source and plays it on the TV, with the phone acting as the remote.

How it works

It's basically a remote for FenLight+

The app talks to your Kodi box over the local network and drives FenLight+ from there. You do the browsing on the phone; the playing happens on the TV.

Point it at Kodi

It scans your local network and finds the Kodi box on its own. Sign in to Trakt, TMDB, Real-Debrid or TorBox if you use them.

Find something

Scroll the home rows and detail pages, or search for a film or show.

Send it to the TV

Tap play. FenLight+ finds a stream and starts it on Kodi. Let it autoplay the best match, or pick the source yourself.

Features

What it does

The main things it can do, grouped roughly by what you'd reach for.

Browsing

Home rows you can rearrange, all pulled from TMDB, with a proper detail page behind every title.

  • Popular, trending, top rated, discover and your own lists
  • Cast, recommendations and similar titles on each page
  • Search films, shows and people

Playing to Kodi

Send any film or episode to FenLight+ with one tap and it plays on the TV.

  • Autoplay the best match, or choose the source
  • Line up several episodes to play back to back
  • A Now Playing screen with play/pause, skip, seek and subtitles

Trakt

Pick up the shows you're partway through, and keep watched state in sync.

  • Next Episodes, with artwork, jumping to the next unwatched one
  • Mark things watched or unwatched, and hide finished shows
  • Your lists, watchlist, history and calendar, cached for speed

Accounts and debrid

Sign in to the services you already use and reach your debrid cloud from the app.

  • Your own TMDB lists and watchlists
  • Browse your Real-Debrid or TorBox cloud files
  • Play them on Kodi, or download them to the phone
  • Add magnets or NZBs, and AirLock TorBox items

Setup and preferences

Not much to it, plus a few things you can tweak.

  • Finds Kodi on your network by itself
  • Light, dark or follow the system
  • Set your region and filter adult content

Self-updating

It's not on the Play Store, so it handles its own updates instead.

  • Checks for a newer release when it starts
  • Downloads and installs it in place
  • APKs are signed and checked against a SHA-256

Playback options

You decide how it finds a stream

Each play action can work differently, from fully automatic to completely hands-on. When you pick a source by hand you can do it on the phone or over on Kodi, whichever you set in Playback settings, and it always plays back on the TV.

On your phone
